George Mark Children's House George Mark Children's House is the first freestanding children's respite and end of life care facility in the United States. The House, located in San Leandro, California, offers respite support (round-the-clock), transitional care, and end of life care for families whose children are seriously ill or dying. Additional support services are available to all family members. Services are provided free of charge.

Overview

Development Volunteers contribute their time, talents, good humor, and expertise to specific fundraising, community outreach, and public speaking events. Volunteering is on an episodic basis and is required when George Mark Children’s House holds an event, is a beneficiary of someone else’s event, or is asked to present a slide show or PowerPoint presentation to a community group. Event hours vary but are usually a five hour commitment and events are held in the evenings and weekends. Volunteers are required to attend one general training session and event volunteers are required to attend one meeting prior to the event.
