As the first free-standing children’s respite and end of life facility in the country, George Mark Children’s House has been a pioneer for a new model of care from the beginning. That model continues to evolve as we refine our holistic approach, add new programs, and expand our advocacy for care and funding from the local to the state, regional and national levels.
Together with our partners, George Mark Children’s House strives to establish standards for pediatric palliative care, contributes to a growing body of educational and clinical resources, helps drive legislation for insurance coverage, and promotes awareness of our cause among the health care community at large. As a model of care, our responsibility is not only to the families and children we care for today, but for all those who will surely follow them.
