Dear Family and Friends,

Together we are making progress on several fronts! As you know, George Mark relied heavily on philanthropic support, and we were forced to suspend inpatient services this March. In subsequent months, we’ve been working hard to enact a new financial model. While there is more work to do, I am delighted to announce that plans are underway for an October 4^th re-opening!

Here’s an update. Just in from the California Deptartment of Health: our CLHF license ensures that more of our care for children is now reimbursable up to and including sub-acute care. We’re approaching insurance agencies to negotiate reimbursement rates, and we’re securing all-important referral partner agreements with Bay Area hospitals. Potential partners are considering agreements to guarantee a set number of beds.

Recently, major support has been received from The Washington Hospital Healthcare System, The Hearst Foundations, California HealthCare Foundation, Wintercreek Foundation, and Braddock Foundation.
