About George Mark

George Mark is a sub-acute, pediatric palliative care center licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health to provide around-the-clock nursing care in a home-like environment. Our goal is to alleviate the pain and suffering associated with illness from diagnosis onward. Some of the benefits of our pediatric palliative model of care include:

Families can come to George Mark Children’s House while pursuing curative treatment
From the moment of diagnosis, we help families learn to manage their child’s care safely, and to manage pain and other distressing symptoms of illness and treatments. Our staff helps to mitigate caregiver role strain.
There is no requirement of imposing a six month life-span prognosis before implementing palliative care options.

Ideally, palliative care begins early, long before families reach a crisis. With early intervention, we can help connect families to resources, and provide emotional, physical, and psycho-social support while working to create the best possible experiences for families. As the referring physician, you remain your patient’s Primary Care Provider. Our Medical Director is available and happy to consult with you.
