George Mark Children’s House specializes in caring for children and young adults with complex medical conditions that may result in a shortened life expectancy. The goal of palliative care is to relieve the suffering, pain and stress of illness, regardless of prognosis. Palliative care is compatible with treatments that are meant to cure. George Mark Children’s House welcomes children with diverse diagnoses, from newborns to 25 year olds. Young adults are considered on a case-by-case basis. All medically eligible children and their families are welcome regardless of ethnicity, national origin, gender identity, orientation, religion or socio-economic status.

The care of our entire family. The care for [our child’s] sibling. There was always something for her to do or someone for her to play with. In addition, she was able to talk to a specialist about her feelings and about death. I just can’t explain what GMCH is really. I can’t say it was a great experience losing our child but GMCH made it better and their after death programs continue to help us.
