What we do

George Mark Children’s House specializes in caring for children and young adults with complex medical conditions that may result in a shortened life expectancy. The goal of palliative care is to relieve the suffering, pain and stress of illness, regardless of prognosis. Palliative care is compatible with treatments that are meant to cure. George Mark Children’s House welcomes children with diverse diagnoses, from newborns to 25 year olds. Young adults are considered on a case-by-case basis. All medically eligible children and their families are welcome regardless of ethnicity, national origin, gender identity, orientation, religion or socio-economic status.

For further information about eligibility or admission or to arrange a tour of our beautiful house, please send an email to or call Kathy Lee at (510) 346-1285.

What Families Are Saying

The best aspects of our experience were the genuine love and kindness shown towards our family, and that our child experienced life beyond the hospital.  We’re grateful for the opportunities provided for our child.
